KrähenFee: Our summer love

It has been two weeks now since we were guests at the KrähenFee convention & Festival of Fantasy 2024. And wow – we had a really good time. The location was marvelous. The visitors were such a great folk. The organizers of the event and the whole KrähenFee team were so nice and supportive for us and our market stand, it almost felt unreal. <3

As we decided that it will become tradition now, we briefly want to introduce some market stands / exhibitors we met and talked to. 🙂

Kim Nexus

Kim Nexus from Kim Nexus Publishing is writing books. Books about witches. In space. Witches in space – say no more, we are sold! 😀 Important to say, her Witch Way Chronicles (German: Hexenflug Chroniken) is a very abitious project. So far four books are published, the fifth is already on the way. But these five books will just be the first part of her series. There will be at least two, maybe three more parts, each consisting of five books, too. After a thoughtful calculation, this will leave the reader with 15-20 books to read for the Witch Way Chronicles! Big respect for that project!

Also, Kim attracted visitors to her market stand not only with nice book artworks and merchandise but also with a wheel of fortune! Every visitor was able to win something. It was in such a intensive use that it died 30 minutes before the end of the convention. Just enough staying power to last that great weekend! 😉

Nikolai Ostertag

We love some well-crafted and aesthetically appealing artwork! And yes, this guy delivers! We saw Nikolais illustrations for the first time and we instantly liked them. Go check them out on his website, there is a link to his portfolio, too. There may not be much (yet) but we love what we can see so far. 🙂

Could you imagine some of his illustrations decorating the walls of the Dice Per Second store? 😉

Edda Bork

More art, more literature! You can find both at the same time with Edda Bork. She is not only author of the magic world of Telamon – which consists of two volumes so far – but she also is a painter. She likes to depict book scenes, characters and landscapes, as writing and painting go together for her. She paints to sort out her ideas and to see a person or scene more clearly. This is some holistic worldbuilding, we like that a lot! 🙂

There is even one step more: When you meet her at a convention, you even might find her cosplaying as one of her book characters! So cool! 🙂

Office for Æther Affairs (Amt für Ætherangelegenheiten)

First, let those great people speak for themselves:
The Office for Æther Affairs is a fictional organization based on a series of books by steampunk author Anja Bagus. Over time, the obsessive idea of bringing the office to life has developed into a community of steampunks who appear as officials at various events and issue time travel passports, distribute visas and temporal stamps, stamp documents – just like an office. Last but not least, the officials like to provide information about the Ætherworld and the history of the office.

We met those guys in the form of a nice talk. When dropping the fact that I wasnt able to leave our own stand the day before because I was too busy, I recieved a formal, written and stamped reprimand which said: “Did not move whole day.” What. The. Hell. I was supposed to keep this reprimand with me in my official time travel passport. Oh, I didnt have one yet? Better get one quickly before I receive another reprimand!!! So we did the whole bureaucratic process, applying for our time travel documents, with photos (and stamps again!), meeting more great folks during the whole procedure.

Apparently at most conventions there is one or more people with Office for Æther Affairs stamping rights so they can officially document your visit at the convention in your time travellers passport. We will make sure to keep ours with us at all times now! 😀

And as this cant even be close to a complete list, best regards and thank you a lot to all the other people we met at Krähenfee 2024. 🙂 We will meet you again 2025! 🙂

Until then: Happy gaming!
