Retro Strongpoint for Warhammer 40k

Older hobbyists might still remember the old White Dwarf cardboard tutorials to build your own terrain.

Nostalgic little projects! The “Basic Strongpoint for Warhammer 40.000” by Rick Priestley and Robin Dews could be found in the White Dwarf issue 184 from April 1995.

Luckily we have 3D printers available nowadays to turn our little projects into reality. And luckily we have 3D designers like good guy Mangouste on Printables. He designed this “Basic Strongpoint” in 3D, ready to print.

This design prints flawlessly on modern FDM printers and PLA is a nice material for this project. The bunker towers just print like they are. For the bridge you have to optimize a bit with some selectively set supports but then it also prints like a charm.

Depending on the parts and amout of pieces you print, you will be able to build one of two options: Either two bunker towers connected by one wall or three bunker towers, one of them being a corner tower, connected by two walls in total:

So if you want to bring some Oldhammer vibes to your table, check out the Dice Per Second webshop, those two Strongpoints may just be available there. 🙂
