Half a year ago I made a post about designing a Magic: The Gathering deckbox and today I am still optimizing those designs and adjust them to customer needs.
The most recent addition to the deckboxes portfolio is this one:
This “ultimate” deckbox features a deck height up to 66mm and was designed with the input of a regular tournament player who openly communicated his daily needs to me.
The dimensions of the deckbox are 11.3cm x 10.6cm x 7cm. This time the box also contains a life counter with space for 3x D10.
The deckbox was designed for 100 cards in thick protective sleeves. There is also space for 12 to 16 token cards on top. This results in the maximum deck height of 66mm.
There is also the already known tray for dice and tokens. But this time the tray can hold either:
- 48x D6 of the standard 16mm size
- OR 40x D6 and the included life counter including the pre-inserted 3x D10
- OR 30 token cards in protective sleeves and 24x D6
- OR 30 token cards in protective sleeves, 16x D6 and the included life counter with pre-inserted D10
The tournament customer was so nice to provide me with some photos of his use cases:
Optimization and mass production allow me to offer the “Ultimate TCG Deckbox” (including the life counter) for 13€ to customers resident in Germany in my webshop.
The next step could be to make this box into a double deck box with two card trays each side of the dice tray and offering different colour options – maybe depending on the colour of your deck. I am always open for suggestions and personal inquiries. 🙂
Happy gaming!
