Stomping feet, melting meat

Last night we had another awesome game night, playing a match of Grimdark Future with armies worth of 3000 points each. The factions we chose were Havoc Brothers vs Titan Lords.

We took the mission we played right out of the rulebook, no house rules this time. So the mission was “Duel”, the deployment was “Flank Assault”. We played 4 rounds and we had 4 objective markers. Both of us chose a side mission in secret and we had one shared side mission we both could complete. All objectives would be scored at the end of the game, giving 1 VP each.

The shared side mission was “Conserve – At least 50% of friendly units alive.”
The Titan Lords chose “Linebreaker – All enemies without Tough killed” as their secret mission.
And finally the Havoc Brothers chose “Defend – No enemy units fully inside friendly deployment zone” as their secret side mission.

Here are the army lists and pictures of both fully painted armies:

The Havoc Brothers had a really tough time to compete against these solid Titan Lord units. During the whole game they only managed to kill one Glaive Mini-Titan which is worth 460 points but they lost more than 2000 points by themselves, only fielding a handful of models in the last turn.

Luckily, the Havoc Brothers managed to hold one objective marker and secretly score their side mission, as there was no Titan Lord in the Havoc Brothers deployment zone, resulting in 2 victory points for the overwhelmed Havoc forces.

The Titan Lords scored one objective marker too and also scored the shared side mission as they easily stayed above 50% starting strength. They didnt manage to get points for their side mission, as there were still a handful of 1-wound Havoc Brothers left on the battlefield.

Both factions were competing for the third objective marker so no one could claim it and the last objective marker was empty, as the Castellan Titan easily eradicated the Havoc Brothers squad guarding it.

So the match result was a draw with a final score of 2:2. Good game!
