Desert planets have been very popular not only since the new Dune movies. And one of the most popular desert planets of all times is Tatooine. You can find it in the Star Wars universe. Located in the desolate Outer Rim, Tatooine orbits a pair of binary G-type stars, Tatoo I and Tatoo II.
And with all the tabletop wargames being around (even Star Wars themed, Legion anyone?) it just makes perfect sense to paint some Tatooine-style desert planet terrain!
Luckily, good old Terrain4Print delivers! I found some buildings that were designed around 2017. Then I picked the ones that print flawlessly on my FDM printers. I decided to first arrange them in a set of 5 buildings and started painting them.
I started spraypainting them in 3 different colours with black being the basecoat. No airbrush needed here, rattlecans do the job just fine. Then I applied some heavy drybrushing. Light metallic for the tower and a mix of brown and khaki for the other buildings. Then I painted some details, like doors and pipes. Giving them a final drybrush and weathering, too and its done: Our settlement is ready for a nice desert-themed game of… whatever! 😉 Quick and easy!
If you want these buildings, too but lack the capacity to print them yourself, just take a look in the DicePerSecond webshop, you just might find them there. 😉
